Privacy policy

Updated 3 November 2026. LakeLevelNow (lakelevelnow.com) is run by Michael, an independent developer who also runs zovo.one. This page says what the site collects and what third parties collect when you visit. There are no accounts and no comment boxes. The only form on the site is an optional waitlist that asks for an email address (see below). We never ask for your name.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Lake pages and the main overview pages can show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). You can read how Google uses cookies in advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, and how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can also opt out of other vendors' advertising cookies at aboutads.info/choices.

The ad code loads only for visitors outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Before it loads, the page asks a small endpoint on our own Cloudflare Worker which country the request comes from. The answer is used for that page view only and is not stored. If the country is in that region, unknown, or the lookup fails, no ad code loads. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we ask Google for non-personalized ads. Ads never load on the 404 page, the checkout pages or the support page.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and page views, views of the Almanac offer, sample views and checkout clicks. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to tell browsers and sessions apart. Our events send public page paths and product identifiers. They do not send email addresses, payment details or anything typed into a tool. Query strings and fragments are excluded. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled for analytics. Analytics does not load when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

Almanac counter and payments

A first-party counter on our own Cloudflare Worker records the event name, the lake slug and the placement of an Almanac offer when you view or click it. It stores no cookie and no personal data. If you buy the Almanac, Stripe processes the payment on its own site under its own privacy policy. Our Worker uses the Stripe checkout session only to hand you the download; it does not store your email address, IP address or browser details. Tips go through Buy Me a Coffee or PayPal under their own policies.

Waitlist email

Some lake pages show a planned feature with a "Get early access" button. If you leave your email address there, our Cloudflare Worker stores it in Cloudflare KV with the feature you picked, the lake page, the time and your country. We use it once, to tell you when that feature is ready. We do not sell or share it and we add it to no other list. To limit abuse, the Worker also keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for two days. To have your address deleted, ask on the contact page.

Hosting logs

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may log IP addresses and request details for security and operations. We do not receive or keep those logs.

Children

The site is a general-audience reference for lake levels. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Questions and requests
